The only downside to these lighter materials is durability.

My favorite tactile feature of the handband adjustment (from the XM3) is retained here: the ear cups effortlessly glide and click to the desired length or adjustment. Cushioning is great overall, especially on the underside of the headband, and the clamping is secure without adding much pressure on your head/ears. Despite the pair of headphones being light in weight, the materials feel premium. If it ain’t broke, right? The Sony XM4’s are made extremely well.
